Lots of things happened recently. Got a cute baby girl, named her Farah Naajihah. Still not used of hearing the word "bintu". Anyway, I'm Abu Jihah now hoho.

Went to Tokyo end of May, had a course at the Japanese central bank there. Was an interesting moment, to be able to meet people from other countries and the best thing is I was able to revise my nihongo. One night, I went out on my own, walked very far from Tokyo Station to Tokyo Tower, was on foot I guess about 2 hours. Then, decided to take train back. There are so many train lines, I thought it is as simple as in Malaysia, turned out that one station has different places of waiting. So, waited at 1 spot, asked a Japanese guy. The only word I understood from his explanation (in Japanese) is the direction left and right. Then, after minutes of waiting, I decided to walk because I was asking myself why the red line which I wanted to take is 500m away? Only then I realized that I need to walk about 500m to the right place before I can take the red line train. Shoot, almost all stations are big. Some stations are also connected, where if you walk about 1km underground you can reach to a different station, no need to take train. I wonder how they build the underground city, or I called "2nd world". Glad I learned nihongo, I owe much to Krainz Sensei.

Things in office also changed. All involved politics. My senior always remind newbies like me, in the end it is not who you are or what you know, the most important to survive is who you know. My uncle already warned me about this culture, if you wanna climb high and fast, you need to play politics. I refuse! I still wanna hold to my principle, that I want to live sincerely and truthfully. Yes, I need to have my own strategies. Plus, I care much about people who are left behind or looked down just because they do the mundane works perceived as low value-added tasks. This is Malaysian culture, the result of yesterday's history. So, the meaning of restructuring is just rebranding. Anyway, I am asked to cover US now, not that I am very well verse about US economy coz I used to study in the States, but had to coz I am told to be the next best person, in other words among the losers I am the best which is equivalent to 2nd or 3rd class officer. SO, that's how I live my life. Had to do what it takes to feed myself, wife and now a cute daughter. A colleague of mine keep reminding that we need to do what it takes to safe our "rice cooker," if people trying to throw sands we have to be careful and try not to do the same to people's rice cookers.

You got to do what you need to do.

Life is not as easy as we think or learn, politicians are stupid people. So, what do we do? Blame central bank(er)? Central bankers are not politicians, but are asked to satisfy politicians and the people, both. Our discussion in office yesterday concluded that we are assigned to clean the mess after the wild party. I think it is an honor to be a cleaner, I wanna clean the river which people polluted, will you join me?
